This Parade Home was built to the standard, not the trend.

The chimney sets the tone. A thick stone base rises halfway up, meets a large cut piece of limestone and gives way to reclaimed brick above. It anchors a traditional architectural style of English Arts and Crafts with an exterior of stone and stucco, where Douglas fir headers sit over divided light windows.

Inside, the entry opens between two walls of glass, daylight pouring in from the study on one side and the dining room on the other. Overhead the ceiling rolls into a gentle barrel, carrying through to the white oak paneled walls beyond.

From there, the detailing tightens. Window casings run a full 2 inches deep in a contemporary profile. Floors are wide-plank white oak. Cabinetry is clean and current. Traditional forms, drawn with a sharper pencil.

This is a home built for gathering. Friends arrive often and hosting was a priority. A first-floor bar and a generous dining room anchor the entertaining, and a golf simulator keeps the season alive through a Wisconsin winter.
